I agree, however, they have the fuel set exactly where they want it to. To make as much power as these trucks are making without any smoke takes 100 times the amount of money to develop the electronics to make it work. Diesels are neat in that respect, add a huge turbo, and install monster injectors, and you are essentially set with supporting mods.
Diesels are also neat in that respect, as you can make a diesel way more efficient than a gasoline engine with a very sophisticated electronic fuel systems, advanced EGR, DI, etc. We will see many more diesels on the market in the future, check out the V-dub's TDI's... simply amazing. The days of people believing diesels are dirty and slow will soon be out of the picture.
